an invitation only reading on Parliament Hill with George Elliott Clarke, Monty Reid, rob mclennan and and Diana Manole. i'm chuffed to be invited and to be reading on the Hill. This is a League of Canadian Poets National Poetry Month event, which means that The Road is the theme along with Shakespeare. i'll be reading about my health crisis, my journey from sudden near death to recovery, peppered with Shakespeare's poems & soliloquys on love and death.
2. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 9pm, launch of "firstwalks of the year": a chapbook to be published by In/Words. The Clocktower Pub, 575 Bank Street. Opening for me will be the charming & poetic, a.m. kozak. Subhraj Singh will provide music. Please go listen to his gorgeous voice & guitar playing. & i believe there will be an open mic. I'm very excited about the upcoming chapbook made & edited with care by In/Wordians Jennifer Greenberg & Sanita Fejzić under the guidance of Collett Tracey of Carleton University's Department of English Language and Literature & designed by artist Jessoca Aylsworth.
3. Tuesday, May 3, 9pm, The Resonance Reading Series, the Resonance Cafe, 5175A avenue du Parc, Montreal. My fellow readers will be Elee Kraljii Gardiner, Alison LaSorda, Jacob McArthur Mooney, and Alison Strumberger. For this reading, I will read from Kiki (Chaudiere Books, 2014). I'm thrilled that Kiki is finally having her Montreal debut, a city she was made for.
