POEM IN YR POCKET DAY, APRIL 30, 2020

a painting of sound would go something like this

a still body
arms reaching out
fingers curled to pull in white noise
as represented by empty cartoon bubbles
deflated by the pressure of entry to the ears

a passing car is squiggly ellipsis points
on a razor thin black line that splits
the silent city in two

the clacking of a computer keyboard
is a series of geometric shapes
in light to dark grey depending
on the degree of pressure
by the digit on the individual
letter

the sudden quickening of a heartbeat
dash dash dash in bright cherry red
the thickening of ankle veins
a viscous green running down the canvas
the endless ticking of a busy brain
fireflies shimmering orange
