rob published my 2nd ever chapbook, Eleanor in 2007 through above/ground press. that's 13 years ago, i'm just realizing and holy fuck! Aftermath or Scenes from A Woman Convalescing, my most recent above/ground press chapbook was published in 2019. rob has published two broadsides, and 7 chapbooks of mine through above/ground press, and many of my poems in the Peter F. Yacht Club, and Touch the Donkey, and he made me the first guest editor of G U E S T, in recent years. I can't even count all the times rob has published my work online and also, not part of above/ground press, Chaudiere Books, which was run by rob mclennan and Christine McNair published my darling Kiki in 2014. every year these celebrations are important. i have never found a publisher so devoted to the chapbook, to poetry, to supporting the work of emerging and established writers alike, to being just generally keen about my work and also critical of my zombie poems. rob does so much. i feel honoured to have been part of the above/ground piles and envelopes now for ... wait for it... 13 years! but this isn't to celebrate my 13 years with above/ground press...it's to celebrate the press's 27th year of existence. 27 years times x chapbooks x folds x staples...way more math than i can do. Happy 27th to above/ground press, to all the writers rob has published thru the press. thanks rob for your constant interest in my work and your encouragement. this time next year, let's have cake. and a reading! i might even buy you a beer. maybe.
